• After reboot, you will land at the Workplace Shell desktop (grey background, folder icons).
• Your network card may not work immediately. Download the "GenMAC" driver package from OS2World on a separate machine and transfer via virtual floppy.

• Partition the hard drive using the OS/2 FDISK (create a single primary C: partition, type OS/2 HPFS).
• Format (JFS or HPFS – choose HPFS for stability in 5.1).
• Select "Full Installation" not "Minimal" unless you are a command-line purist.
• When asked for "Mouse Type," choose "Standard PS/2" – USB mice will need later drivers.
