The Honest Recommendation:

The Good (At its peak)

  1. Intuitive Interface: Unlike professional tools (Fusion 360, SolidWorks), 123D Design used a simple, icon-based workflow. The "Primitive" shapes (box, sphere, cylinder) made modeling feel like digital LEGOs.
  2. Excellent for 3D Printing: It directly exported STL files and had built-in repair tools to check if a model was "watertight" (manifold) for printing.
  3. Mac-Like Experience: The UI felt cleaner and less cluttered than Windows counterparts, and it ran reasonably well on older MacBooks.
  4. Great Learning Tool: It taught core concepts (extrude, subtract, fillet, combine) that transfer to professional CAD.
