Second Stop: Call of the Dead (The Frozen Hell) Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 Zombies DLC
Final Score for the DLC Pack as a whole: 9.5/10 Criticism: Shangri-La is too reliant on teamwork for casual play; Moon’s Excavator mechanic can unfairly end games. The Shrink Ray (31-79 JGb215): A wonder weapon
- The Shrink Ray (31-79 JGb215): A wonder weapon that shrinks zombies. Stepping on a shrunk zombie kills it instantly, but shrunk zombies move faster. It’s quirky, hilarious, and lethal.
- Spike Traps & Water Slides: The map is a labyrinth of narrow hallways, mud pits that slow you, and water slides that launch you across the map.
- The Napalm & Shrieker Zombies: Napalm zombies leave fire on the ground. Shriekers scream, causing a blinding flash and increased zombie spawns.
- The Eclipse: During certain rounds, the sun turns into an eclipse, changing the environment.
New Features & Gameplay
- The Lunar Landers: Instead of traditional teleporters, you call lunar landers to move between key areas (Spawn, Docking, and Launch). You must wait for them to arrive while defending against hordes.
- The Landers & Perk System: If you leave a lander without paying, zombies will overrun it, locking you out for a round.
- Gersch Devices (Black Hole Grenade): A tactical grenade that sucks in all zombies (and players) into a singularity. One of the most satisfying "panic buttons" in Zombies history.
- The Matryoshka Dolls: A secondary grenade that explodes into smaller dolls. Devastating against crowds.
With a lurch of reality, they were gone.
The biting Arctic wind was a worse enemy than the zombies. They appeared on the ice of Siberia, next to a film crew’s ruined base camp. In the distance, a massive, silent cargo ship was frozen into the ice. And shambling toward them, an actor’s painted face twisted into a permanent snarl, was the undead form of George A. Romero himself.
