Crosshair Minecraft 1.8.9
1.8.9, the crosshair is the central targeting indicator used for aiming, building, and combat. While the default crosshair is a simple translucent plus sign, players often customize it for better visibility during competitive PvP or general gameplay using mods, specialized resource packs, or built-in client features. Customization Options Small Crosshair - Minecraft Resource Pack - Modrinth
- Precision: It allows you to see exactly where the center of the screen is without obstructing the view of the opponent's player model.
- Block Placement: It makes "Bridging" (specifically God Bridging or Ninja Bridging) easier because you can align the block placement reticle precisely without the arms of the crosshair blocking your view of the edge of the block.

- Place a 16×16 – 32×32 PNG named
icons.png
- The crosshair is on the bottom-right of
icons.png (Vanilla guide: it’s the same texture as the white dot outline)
- Pack format
1 = 1.8.9
- Apply pack in-game
- Dot Crosshair: Remove the traditional 4-line crosshair. Replace it with a single, bright neon pixel in the exact center of the screen.
- Why? Because the human eye naturally centers a dot faster than aligning four lines. When an enemy is jumping (common in 1.8.9 to avoid crits), you simply place the dot on their feet. Their hitbox extends 0.5 blocks below their feet, so the dot-on-feet guarantees a hit.
