Guide: Installing Digi Edgeport 1 Drivers on Windows 10 (64-bit)
The Digi Edgeport 1 is a legacy USB-to-serial converter often used in industrial and commercial environments. Because the hardware is older, finding the correct driver for modern Windows 10 systems can be tricky.
Official Source: You can find the latest software on the Digi Edgeport Support Page.
Manually update driver:
If Device Manager still shows an error, right-click the device → Update driver → Browse my computer → Let me pick → Have Disk → Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Digi\RealPort\Drivers\ (or similar) and select the .INF file.
COM Port Changes: Use the Edgeport Configuration Utility to manually reassign COM port numbers if they conflict with other hardware.
Step 3: Connect the Digi Edgeport 1
- Plug the Edgeport 1 into a USB 2.0 port (not USB 3.0 – legacy devices sometimes have handshake issues on blue USB 3.0 ports).
- Observe the LED on the Edgeport. It should flash once then remain solid green.
- Windows will play the "device connected" chime. The driver will now bind automatically.
: Disconnect the Edgeport/1 from your PC before starting the installation. Run Installer : Execute the downloaded file (e.g., a self-extracting ). It typically extracts files to C:\edgeport drivers and launches a command-prompt setup. Connect Device
