Abstract: This paper examines FIFA 19 for the Xbox 360 not as a sports simulation, but as a unique digital object—a “post-support” ISO file. Released in 2018, six years after its console’s successor launched, this title represents a liminal moment in gaming history: the final major third-party release for a platform, distributed simultaneously as a physical ISO and a digital download. By analyzing the FIFA 19 ISO’s structure, its legacy gameplay engine (Ignite vs. Frostbite), and the subculture of archival preservation, this paper argues that such late-generation ISOs function as time capsules of economic pragmatism, modding resilience, and the tension between live-service obsolescence and physical media’s longevity.
