Note on Availability: The FortiGate 200D entered its "End of Engineering" (EOE) and "End of Support" (EOS) phase several years ago. As of 2024/2025, it is no longer receiving new feature updates or critical security patches unless you have a very specific legacy support contract (which is rare). 5. Management & Usability

• GUI: The FortiOS 6.0 GUI is functional but clunky compared to the modern "Fabric" view found in current units.
• FortiLink: Support for FortiLink allows it to manage FortiSwitches, which is a nice feature if you have older FortiSwitches lying around. However, support for newer FortiSwitch models via FortiLink is limited or non-existent on older firmware.

Because the 200D is EOL, you cannot purchase a new contract. However, you may still have access if:

• Improved threat protection (new IPS/AV signatures and engine improvements).
• Better SSL inspection and TLS compatibility, reducing blind spots.
• Performance tuning for VPN and SSL VPN connections.
• Enhanced logging, forensic, and troubleshooting tools.
• Bug fixes for known stability issues and memory/CPU optimizations.
