Return to the main hall. Unlock the Study (large oak door, east side).
Inside the Study, you’ll meet your first Echo. Interact with it to learn about the "Extra Life" rumor.
Pull the third book on the second shelf from the left. A secret compartment opens, revealing a Blank Map.
Take the map to the Atelier (north of the main hall). Use the inkwell there. The map reveals a trapdoor under the main hall’s rug.
Go back, move the rug, go down. Congratulations—you’ll trigger your first scripted death (a floor spike trap). This is required.
