Abstract

This paper presents the architecture, design philosophy, and implementation strategy of the Milang Keyboard Software. As digital communication becomes ubiquitous, minority and regional languages face the threat of digital extinction due to a lack of input method support. The Milang Keyboard Software addresses this gap by providing a robust, cross-platform input method editor (IME) tailored specifically for the phonological and orthographic nuances of the Milang language. We propose a modular architecture utilizing a finite-state transducer for predictive text and a flexible rendering engine to support complex scripts, ensuring that Milang speakers can communicate natively across modern digital platforms.
