Crafting & Looting
- Right-click the game in your library.
- Select Properties > Betas.
- Ensure you are opted out of beta programs to receive the stable v20241230 branch.
- Warning: Saves from versions prior to October 2024 are not compatible with this build. You must start a new game to experience the new AI and loot tables.

1. Expedition System
- Daily Expedition Missions: Procedurally generated objectives with escalating difficulty and unique rewards (materials, rare blueprints, survivor perks).
- Expedition Hub: New UI to accept, track, and manage up to three concurrent expeditions. Missions auto-scale to party strength.
- Return & Fatigue: Survivors gain fatigue; long expeditions require rest or items to avoid permanent morale loss.
- Updated Chinese (Simplified) and Russian translations.
- Fixed inventory stacking issues where identical items would not merge.
- Map markers now persist after save/load.
The Good:
- Stability: Crashes are virtually nonexistent in this build. Save corruption (a previous plague) seems fixed.
- Tension: The Mist is genuinely terrifying now. The new sound design (wind, creaking trees, distant screams) is award-worthy.
- Replayability: The random loot generator has been tweaked to prevent "god runs" where you find a rifle in the first house.
