Motorola Mototrbo Cps 2.0 Programming Software ((link)) May 2026

Introduction

What Is CPS 2.0?

CPS 2.0 is the official programming software for Motorola MOTOTRBO Series 2 (Gen 2) and newer digital radios. Unlike the older CPS, which was a one-time purchase with perpetual updates, CPS 2.0 operates on a subscription license tied to a Motorola Account. It is used to configure radio parameters—including frequencies, talk groups, privacy settings, and feature enablement—as well as to manage firmware updates and radio templates.

: Allows users to configure radio settings including channels, frequencies (UHF/VHF), power levels, and signaling features. Firmware Management Motorola Mototrbo Cps 2.0 Programming Software

Multi-Document Support: Open multiple codeplug windows simultaneously and copy-paste data between them to speed up fleet management.

Step 2: Reading the Radio

  1. Connect your USB cable to the radio and PC.
  2. Turn the radio ON.
  3. In CPS 2.0, click the Read button (Orange down-arrow) on the Home ribbon.
  4. A dialog will show the radio model and firmware. Click OK.
  5. Crucial: Save the original codeplug with a recognizable name (e.g., SERIAL_12345_Backup_2024.dat). If you brick the radio, this file saves you.

Additionally, the application launchers within CPS 2.0 (such as the Provisioning Manager) are better integrated into the ecosystem, allowing for batch updates and centralized management of encryption keys—a vital feature for security-conscious sectors like public safety and critical infrastructure.
