Steps:

5) Perform the firmware upgrade (web UI method)

1. In the router web UI, go to System Tools / Firmware Upgrade (or Administration → Firmware).
2. Click “Choose File” / “Browse” and select the downloaded English firmware (.bin or .img).
3. Start the upgrade. Do not power off, unplug, or navigate away while the upgrade runs.
4. Wait—the router will upload, write, and usually reboot. This can take several minutes.
5. After reboot, log in and verify firmware version shows the new English build.

The Default State: Chinese Interface

Out of the box, the TL-WDR7660 runs a proprietary TP-Link firmware that is entirely in Simplified Chinese. There is no official language switcher within the stock settings. In the router web UI, go to System
