irecovery -f custom.ipsw
Before you begin:
- SHSH Blobs: These are unique digital signatures for a specific device and a specific iOS version. Apple stops signing these shortly after a new iOS release.
- APTicket: Required for newer devices (iPhone 4S and later) to validate the restore during the process.
- Status Check: If you did not save your blobs while Apple was still signing that iOS version, no free tool can restore the unsigned IPSW. You will encounter Error 4014/4013 or get stuck in Recovery Mode.
