To download the V-Ray 6 Material Library for offline use, you must use the V-Ray Material Library Downloader included with your installation. Method 1: Using the Chaos Cosmos Browser (Official Method)

The official Chaos Cosmos browser is the gateway to the material library. vray 6 material library download offline

Windows: Go to C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\V-Ray for SketchUp\extension\vrayappsdk\bin (Path varies slightly for 3ds Max or Maya). Look for mtllib.exe. 📁 Using the Library Offline

Once downloaded, no internet connection is required
Materials are stored locally with full textures, maps, and settings
All 500+ materials (metal, wood, glass, fabric, etc.) work completely

Temporarily disable "Real-time protection" during the download.
Add ChaosCosmos.exe and V-Ray for [Your App] to the exclusion list.
Run your 3D software as Administrator.

Recommendation: Place it on a high-speed drive (SSD preferred) with ample space.
Standard Path: C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray Material Library (or a custom path like D:\Libraries\V-Ray_Mats).

Offline Capability: Once assets are downloaded via Cosmos, they can be used offline.
