In the world of game preservation, Redump.org is the gold standard database. For the Xbox 360, a standard ISO rip is often incomplete or inaccurate. The Redump project aims to preserve exact, bit-for-bit copies of game discs, including error correction data and specific sector layouts that normal ripping software ignores.

While Redump ISOs are the best for archiving, they aren't always the best for playing directly on a modded console.

As months passed, more people contributed. A group in Japan chased region-locked discs and obscure pressings; a volunteer in Brazil specialized in translations and localized packaging; someone in Sweden reverse-engineered a timing quirk to allow clean rips from a batch of damaged copies.
