Jim reports his commercial 45 copy of Andrea True Connection's "More, More, More (Pt. 1)" has an actual and printed run time of 3:02. I'm passing this along because the song's database CD entries containing a "45 version" comment range from 2:57-3:10.

The Mysterious Case of the Unusable Keyboard Layout: Unraveling the zxcvbnmlkjhgfdsaqwertyuioppoiuytrewqasdfghjklmnbvcxz Enigma

6. Conclusion

The string zxcvbnmlkjhgfdsaqwertyuioppoiuytrewqasdfghjklmnbvcxz is a deliberate geometric construction based on the QWERTY keyboard layout. It lacks semantic meaning, possesses low cryptographic security, and serves primarily as a functional tool for input testing or pseudonymous identification. zxcvbnmlkjhgfdsaqwertyuioppoiuytrewqasdfghjklmnbvcxz

  • Intentionality: High. Random key mashing usually results in key clusters (e.g., "asdfjkl;") or repeated letters. This string follows strict grid lines.
  • Muscle Memory: The patterns lkjhgfdsa and zxcvbnm are common "reset" or "frustration" wipes for typists. The inclusion of the top-row palindrome suggests a playful or experimental mindset—testing the limits of the keyboard's geography.
  • The Error Check: The transition from Phase III to Phase IV is seamless. The string ends exactly where it began (at the 'z' key), creating a closed loop of input.

Phase II: The Middle Bridge (Linear)

  • Sequence: lkjhgfdsa
  • Analysis: This is a perfect sweep of the keyboard's middle row (the home row), moving from right to left. It connects the bottom row sweep to the top row.

Detailed Content: The QWERTY Keyboard Layout and Its History

The QWERTY keyboard layout is the most commonly used keyboard layout in the world. The arrangement of keys is a result of the mechanical typewriter's design and its solutions to technical problems. The Mysterious Case of the Unusable Keyboard Layout:

There's a lot of crap on the radio, but there's only one Crap From The Past.

Couldn't find any decent videos on YouTube of the 45
playing, but I think all of the 3:00 versions of
the song in the database actually run 1% faster than the
45.

Can anyone verify? Calling Mark Matthews.

Agree with crapfromthepast that Rhino's Disco Years,
Volume 1 is the best digital source for this classic. This
CD sounds like it is sourced from lower generation tape
sources than the other options, and tastefully mastered.
I turn up the good and turn down the bad!
