Baofeng BF-1909 is a 16-channel, high-power UHF handheld radio (400–470 MHz) that can be programmed using either official manufacturer software (CPS) or the open-source baofengradio.de Programming Software Options

• Read/write failures: re-seat cable, change cable, test on another computer, reinstall drivers, verify radio is powered on and in correct mode.
• Missing model profile in CHIRP: use a generic Baofeng profile, or download a compatible profile from community repositories.

Installation steps

1. Extract the ZIP (no installer – just an .exe file)
2. Do not run yet – first install the USB-to-serial driver (see below)
3. Right-click the .exe → Properties → Compatibility → Run as administrator + Windows 7 mode
4. Launch the CPS
